Richard Schiffer
Founder & Chairman of IDR Europe Ltd. Co-Chairman of ADR Group
Richard is an international lawyer and a consultant for London solicitors, Wallace & Partners. In 1991 he was founding partner and managing partner of the international law firm of Zellermayer, Pelossof & Schiffer. Prior to that, he served as Corporate General Counsel for 14 years for an international petrochemicals group based in the Netherlands. He is an Arbitrator for the International Commercial and Industrial Court (CARICI) in Geneva, and an Associate Member of the Charter Institute of Arbitrators in the UK. He is also the author of The Use of Alternative Dispute Resolution in International Trade which appeared in the Comparative Law Yearbook of International Business. Richard graduated with a Law Degree from Northwestern University in Illinois, USA (1969) and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Michigan, USA (1966). He qualified for the Illinois State Bar in 1969 and the Law Society (UK) in 1994. He is a member of the Association of Fellows and Legal Scholars of the Centre for International Legal Studies in Salzburg, Austria and is an Advisory Board Member of the World Arbitration and Mediation Report published in Geneva.
