Duncan Aldred
Duncan is a solicitor and partner with London law firm CMS Cameron McKenna LLP. He has worked on a wide range of commercial, banking and insolvency‑related disputes. His long experience acting for parties to litigation has reinforced Duncan’s belief in the value of a settlement at the right price, and acting on numerous occasions for parties to mediations has bolstered his belief in the process and knowledge of how it is used to best effect.

Janine Allen
Janine’s background as a lawyer enables her to build the confidence and trust of the parties in order to deal effectively with a wide range of commercial disputes. Janine has the experience to operate with the autonomy required from a mediator and also to engage in reality testing of each party’s case as a forerunner to a successful conclusion by way of settlement. Janine has been involved in excess of 30 mediations across a variety of commercial sectors, ranging from tens of thousands to multi-million disput.

Jonathan Arkush
As a practitioner with more than 30 years’ experience at the Bar in property and commercial disputes, he is well used to the ways of litigation, negotiation and, in mediations, asking the penetrating questions designed to flush out the parties’ real views on the merits of their case and expose its strengths, weaknesses and risks. Jonathan is equally used to handling advocates, members of other professions and occupations and litigants in person. Jonathan has conducted more that 100 mediations and virtually every mediation has resulted in a successful settlement outcome – certainly in excess of 85% of cases.

Dennis Baldwin
Dennis is a seasoned professional dispute resolution practitioner with over 20 years’ full-time experience in resolving construction and commercial disputes, ranging in value from £5k to £5m, in litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation. With over 20 mediations to date to add to his tally of over 150 decisions as an adjudicator and awards as an arbitrator, Dennis brings to mediation an in-depth knowledge of dispute resolution and a wealth of experience of managing people, problems and process.

David Bale
A former FTSE 100 Deputy General Counsel and erstwhile Commercial Director, now working as an Independent Consultant and Senior Business Adviser, David brings to mediation a rare combination of business and legal problem-solving skills. David’s clear-thinking, measured approach is practical, straightforward and commercial. He works well with parties in dispute and has an encouraging and enabling style. An experienced negotiator, David brings commercial insight, legal knowledge and a natural diplomacy to bear on dispute resolution and is persistent in pursuit of settlement.

Paul Balen
Building on his creation of successful alternative dispute settlement schemes in his historical specialist area of clinical negligence and product liability Paul has developed into a highly successful commercial mediator. Paul he is able to marry inter personal skills with business and legal acumen often devising unique practical strategies to resolve deadlocks. Since qualifying as a mediator in 2004 Paul has conducted a wide variety of commercial mediations involving contract, construction, and professional disputes.

Martin Banham-Hall
Martin became accredited as a mediator by CEDR (The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) in 2002, joining ADR in 2007. Martin contributes the deal making skills of an experienced commercial lawyer to the process of resolving disputes. He has worked with a number of leading and well known commercial mediators, including David Richbell, Presiley Baxendale WC, Robert Gaitskell QC and Mark Jackson-Stops. Martin’s many years of business experience and understanding of how people and organisations work make him a natural mediator.

Mary Banham-Hall
Mary became a Mediator in 1998 and has not looked back since. She set up her specialist mediation company, Focus Mediation Limited, in 1999. Focus has grown, attracting a wide range of mediators from a variety of professional backgrounds. Mary believes passionately that mediation is the best solution in the majority of disputes. Her practical, problem solving skills and understanding of people make her a highly successful mediator with an excellent resolution record. Mary is a peace-maker.

Sara Barrett
Sara is an employment solicitor and Partner with George Davies Solicitors LLP, a legal 500 North West law firm. Sara’s work in employment law has provided her with an excellent understanding of the relationship issues that arise in the workplace and has extensive experience of resolving the same.
